What’s on show at SEMA 2016 that you should know about?

How long have you been wanting a cool new body kit for your Porsche? And have you ever wanted more options to choose from when you buy a new BMW through a novated lease? Both of these things were on show at SEMA 2016 from November 1-4.

The annual event held in Las Vegas brings together car manufacturers and enthusiasts from all around the world to showcase the new and exciting accessories, motors and unique builds that people have been working on. This year, there were some very interesting exhibitions.

More choice from BMW

When you buy new through a novated lease, you can choose to add factory accessories to your heart’s content. In the case of BMW, some exciting additions were on show at SEMA.

A world-first aerodynamics package for the BMW M3, an M Performance light alloy steering wheel, updated coilover performance suspension, M Performance Power and Sound kit and a smart remote are all newcomers to the BMW range. The remote can turn the car on and start the air-conditioning before you set foot in it, which would be perfect for the hot summer days we’re expecting!

A new take on Porsche design

A kit from Old & New Japan, designed by Kei Miura, is transforming modern Porsche’s into the classic beasts of old. While this isn’t a factory option that can be chosen when you buy through a novated lease, it can still be added after you’ve taken the car home.

The aggressive looks and aerodynamic advantage might just inspire you to buy a brand-new 911. It wouldn’t be a bad idea – you’d be in an exclusive club if you installed one of these slanted body kits onto your car in Australia.

The Mazda MX-5 gets a trim

One of the biggest (and only) criticisms of the latest Mazda MX-5 is that it was too wide and heavy. It was a brilliant car though, so finding something wrong with it was always going to be a challenge.

Nevertheless, the Mazda team got together and came up with the Mazda MX-5 RF concept, which was shown at SEMA. It’s sleek and cool, and a whole 160 kilograms lighter than the older model. That brings the total weight down to just 898 kilograms – a weight you don’t normally associate with stock cars.

SEMA 2016 has once again showcased some very cool toys. If you’re after one of the cars (or accessories) listed above, make sure you get in touch with Alliance Leasing to help put you in the driver’s seat.
